Very interesting and definitely helps us see the truth in this scary situation. No one would ever give a schoolyard bully the title great dealmaker as he strong arms the kid out of his lunch money, nor should they give Trump the accolades he surely has not ever deserved. For a man who once suggested nuking a hurricane, I fear he would as easily use nukes to gain monetary value to himself. He alone has something to gain and he will throw anyone and anything under the bus to get it. The next term to redefine in the era we are in is diplomacy. I fear it does not mean what it used to mean.
I agree. European powers and other democratic leaders need to re-affirm the meaning of diplomacy and the rules-based order quickly. But we are all still scrabbling to catch up with this pace of change.
